The Midnai Wilds
The Midnai Wilds is a large, mostly uninhabited marshy forest in Voltana. It is the home of the potion-maker hag Agabane.
Introduction
As you travel south, the road seems to become less and less trodden. Paths forking off to secluded farmsteads become rarer and rarer until eventually the road is barely a road at all. Eventually you are walking a path, no more than a single person wide. The slopes of the Voltanian farmlands began to wane in favour of deeper streams and creeks, that occasionally split the path, forcing you to jump a stream or walk upon stone steps act as makeshift bridges between mini islands spattered around a gloomy marsh.
The trees become more sparse, making way for larger and much taller trees that stretch so tall you can scarcely see the tops, while their branches hang down near the ground like a mix between mighty redwoods and weeping willows. The air smells thick of dirt and mud, and the sun hides behind a light fog that hangs high in the air.
