Afternoon, 5th High Summer, 498 CE
  • Ekhart, Sanglant, Revana, and Remy met the Quartermaster of the Meraverus, Edward Hawkins.
  • Edward assigned them all jobs aboard the ship.
  • As the Meraverus began to sail away, Revana noticed, stand at the docks of the Violet Harbour, was the Inquisitor.
  • Revana went below deck to talk to Remy, who was already busy helping Micky prepare food for their journey.
    • Rev asked her about who the Inquisitor was that Remy had travelled with.
    • Remy explained that Inquisitors are demon hunters with the Church, with their leader simply being called The Inquisitor.
  • As their journey began, each of the party helped out where they could.
    • Sanglant impressed the Boatswain with his climbing abilities and quickly became friendly with the rest of the crew.
    • Ekhart was able to help the Sailingmaster with his understanding of differentials.
    • Revana was able to show off her mastery of the wind to Stefan, who asked Revana to be able to use that ability tomorrow so that they could run through a storm more quickly.
Morning, 6th High Summer, 498 CE
  • The second day of travel was relatively uneventful.
    • In the distance, Ekhart thought perhaps he saw something that looks like dolphins swimming in the distance.
    • Revana used her control weather magic to help guide the ship quickly through some rough wind and rain.
Morning, 7th High Summer, 498 CE
  • The third day of travel was mostly uneventful.
Night, 7th High Summer, 498 CE
  • Sometime during the night, the party woke up to the hushed sounds of the crew above deck.
  • Revana snuck aboard and saw that the ocean was extremely calm, the moon was full, and the crew of the Meraverus were boarding another ship.
    • She returned below deck to waking the party.
    • They all waited for a while, but after about 30 minutes of hearing absolutely nothing, they decided to go after the crew.
  • The party woke Remy and left above deck to board this new ship.
    • While above deck, Revana felt a calming connection to something that felt familiar.
    • Sanglant went across the planks connecting the ship first, only to be ambushed by several invisible creatures.
    • The beings looked like ghoulish, corporeal men. They seemed to have the ability to go invisible, pull magical daggers from their hearts, and grow in size.
  • After an easy victory, the party more closely examined the ship.
    • The ship appeared derelict, almost like a ghost ship.
  • The four of them descended below deck.
    • They found the crew, that appeared to be unconscious and attached to the sides of the ship by barnacles and seaweed.
    • Before they could get them down however, they heard a couple voices.
  • They heard the voice of a spirit telling them to come into the hull of the ship.
    • When the party asked who they were talking to, a Water Spirit appeared before them.
  • The water spirit told them that they would release the crew, if the four of them came below deck.
    • When they refused, another spirit, a Life Spirit, joined the conversation, also threatening the party.
  • Ekhart tried to cast blight on the Life Spirit, that appeared to be made of plant matter, but the spirit was able to counterspell them and combat begun.
  • As they fought, a third spirit, this time an Earth Spirit, joined the battle.
  • The party managed to kill the Water and Life spirit, but before they could kill the Earth Spirit, it warned them that killing her would destroy the ship and kill everyone.

Session 24: The Easterly Wind

Night, 7th High Summer, 498 CE
  • Ekhart, Sanglant, Revana, and Remy began talking with Boan about what the spirits were doing on this ship.
    • Boan explained that her and her two sisters had been stuck in the physical world for the past 1000 years.
    • Thanks to Jayelle, a Life Spirit, they had concocted a way to live even without the power of the Faerealm.
    • They could use the energy of living beings, and create a substitute for life energy and use that to sustain themselves.
    • Boan explained that she, Jayelle, and Anora just wanted to get home, so if they died their energy would return to the faerealm.
    • With Jayelle gone, Boan had no more way to sustain herself, and would be mortal again.
    • With Anora, she had no way to control the ship she was on.
  • Sanglant told Boan that he could escort her to the Faerealm.
    • After a lengthy back and forth, the party eventually hesitantly agreed to return her to the faerealm.
  • As the party was talking, the bodies of Jayelle and Anora faded and their energy seemed to enter the ship surgeron and Remy.
  • Boan also excited told the party to look in the hull of the ship, where she kept an undead Tyrannosaurus Rex.
  • The party helped recover the crew of the Meraverus back to their ship, and Remy tended to them.
Afternoon, 8th High Summer, 498 CE
  • On the forth day of their journey across the northern sea, the Meraverace finally docked at Tol'Edal.
    • The monks began resupplying the ship.
  • Wysees bid the party farewell, and told them that if they ever needed a ship that they were always welcome onboard the Meraverace.
  • Sanglant attempted to send his spirit into the Faerealm, in preperation of sending Boan home.
    • When he tried, he appeared to be blocked by some kind of wall, and couldn't.
    • Boan agreed to tag along until Sanglant could figure out what was blocking him out.
  • Tol'Edal appeared to be in the middle of a celebration of something called the Easterly Winds.
    • Sanglant explained that this was a time of year where the Celdic Valley became a very dangerous place to journey.
    • Monks would bring a lily from one end of the valley to the other, and keep the roads safe during this time.
  • Remy seemed interested in the festival and grabbed a lily.
    • The party would escort her to Tol'Ga'a, where she would lay the lily in a pond.
    • From Tol'Ga'a, the party would have a short journey to Tol'Enay, Sanglant's home.

  • After two hours of climbing the steps, the party finally arrives in Tol'Ga'a.
  • Sanglant and Remy head to the temple, so Remy can offer the lily to the blue pond of Tol'Ga'a.
    • At the blue pond, Sanglant meets a monk named Mo.
    • Mo tells him that he is the first monk from Tol'Enay that has made the journey during the Easterly Winds.
    • This troubles Sanglant, as this is one of the ceremonies that the monks of Tol'Enay enjoy greatly.
    • Mo also tells him that a few weeks ago, there was an earth quake, and then after that a mysterious traveler had been seen visited some of the southern temples.
  • The party suss out that the earthquake lines up with when the Void was created by Father Redrose, and the Traveler roughly lines up with when Cidmuir arrived in Cel'Edor.
  • Revana goes into a field to attempt to speak with the trees and plants there.
    • She does this, and begins communicating the plants around her.
    • The plants tell her that she was the first elf to talk to them in many years, and that elves used to do this often.
    • Revana asked about Terra, and they told her that the world is different now that everything is so far apart.
    • They tell her that the earthquake was from south.
    • After they finish talking, Rev notices a blade of grass dance around her, until eventually resting on the palm of her hand.
  • Ekhart does another quick scan of his book, until eventually finds that there is a small scuffed mark he didn't notice before.
    • He recognizes it at the alchemical symbol for alcohol.
    • Not sure what it means, so retraces it over with his pen.
  • The party discusses what they've learned, and wonders if the mysterious traveler Mo mentioned was Cidmuir, and whether the earthquake originated from Dwarfheim.

  • While they are far away, Sang notices that the smoke stacks of the temple are not emitting any smoke.
    • He knows that this means that the brewery isn't running, which is very strange.
  • Ekhart uses his magic to project his mind in the temple, and he sees several monks dressed in the colours of the monks of Tol'Delaar.
  • As the party gets closer, they confirm that they don't see any Tol'Enay monks and the monks of Tol'Delaar appear to be patrolling the streets.
  • The party sneaks into a resisdent's house that Sang is familiar with, a potter named Conny.
    • Conny confirms that they have been in lockdown for a few days, since the monks of Tol'Delaar invaded Tol'Enay.
    • She says she remembers a human man that looked like Cid joining the temple before the monks arrived, and the Traveler the monks were with didn't match his description.
    • Conny also mentioned that Cid was with Laef when she arrived, but Laef left a few days later, traveling south.
  • Revana uses her magic to scry on Cid, seeing where he is.
    • She finds that Cid is meditating in a wooden room with Langston.
  • The party then plans to break into the temple, and potentially extract Cidmuir (and Langston too!)
  • Under cover of dark, the party travels to the temple.
    • Revana casts Pass Without Trace, and the party successfully sneaks behind it.
    • They use theRuby Rose to locate Cidmuir's exact location.
    • Revana shapeshifts into a bird, and flys around the tower to identify the guards and their schedules.
    • Sang eventually runs up the side of the tower to the 7th floor, as Ekhart takes himself and Remy via a Dimension Door, and Revana lands on the window.
  • The party enters the hallway undetected, and eventually they reach Cid and Langston.
  • Cid is delighted that his brother has arrived to save him.

    • The Traveler had some a crystal called aetherite that let him controls those around him.
    • The Traveler and the monks of Tol'Delaar invaded Tol'Enay.
    • Langston was tricked into touching the stone, and then helped subdue Cid who was also touched.
    • Anyone who was touched by the stone became permanently under the Traveler's control.
    • The Traveler only appeared to be able to directly control 2 people at a time, so Cid and Langston were simply waiting.
  • Ekhart, Revana, Sanglant, and Remy decided to go and stop the Traveler and free the people of Tol'Enay.
  • Sneaking to the top floor, the party got the jump on the Traveler.
    • After a dangerous encounter, they managed to kill the Traveler and subdue his Tol'Delaari guards.
  • The party secured the aetherite, freeing the hold it had on everyone.
  • Remy left to get Boan back from Conny's house.
  • Sanglant and Revana left to the brewery to free the captured Tol'Enayan monks.
  • Ekhart and Cid went to investigate the aetherite in closer detail.
    • Together, they discovered that the aetherite appeared to be hardened, physical magical energy.
    • Cid theorized that it may have been made from a mithril alloy.
  • While they were working, Ekhart told Cid the nature of his birth.
    • Cid, all things considered, took it very well.
    • Not liking that his desire to go to the Faerealm was some sort of per-ordained machination, Cid rejected his life's dream of going to the Faerelam.
    • Cid suggested that Ekhart use the aetherite to seal the Void, rather than himself.
    • Ekhart could cast the spell that Cid was working on, and Cid wouldn't unintentionally get close to the Faerealm.
  • When Revana and Sanglant returned, Sang and Langston left to work through Sang's blockage.
    • Sang explained that the Faerealm appeared to be blocked.
  • Langston told Sang the story of Tol'Enay's founder; Lenna.
    • Lenna was the daughter of a brewer, in a small nowhere village.
    • When Lenna was still young, her father was killed and her mother was taken captive, never to be seen again.
    • Lenna vowed to make sure what happened to her would never happen to anyone again.
    • She traveled the world, in hopes of becoming stronger.
    • Lenna found herself in a forest of elves, where she saved them from an evil spirit; thereby learning that she can make the world better by changing it.
    • Later, Lenna came upon a city made of gold, where she learned to lie in order to make the world better.
    • Langston's point being that there are always two options:
      • Change your world, or
      • Change yourself.
  • Sanglant, guided by Langston, again tried to enter the Faerealm.
    • This time, when Sang reached the wall, Langston told him: change your world or change yourself.
    • Sang opted to change himself, turning himself into water so that could fit through the stone.
    • Sang learned how to modify his spirit in the Faerealm!
  • For this achievement, Langston gave Sang the Wraps of the Master.

    • Laef and Cidmuir are going to stay in Tol'Enay, where Cid will work on the aetherite and his spell to close the Void.
    • Rev, Ekhart, and Sang decided that they will travel to Dwarfheim first, and then afterwards visit the Loridael.
  • During the party, Sanglant returns Boan to the Faerealm.
  • Also during the party, Laef returns with information as to where Dwarfheim is.

    • Revana tries to move the stone with her earth magic, but it appears the the stone is unmovable through magic.
    • Ekhart identifies the stone, and finds that his identify spell has no effect on it.
  • Sanglant takes Ekhart, Revana, and Remy into the Faerealm, turning their bodies into Wind as he does.
    • The party, being able to move through the unmovable earth, make their way to the other side of the stone.
  • The party began to enter the caves of Dwarfheim.

  • They kept walking through the caves, the entered the ruins of Old Dwarfheim.
  • There, they met Seigagar the Dwarf, who was with Remy.
    • Seigagar implied that the party had arrived yesterday and that whatever they tried must have not worked if they were back so soon.
    • Remy told the party that they must have forgotten yesterday, because the three of them entered Dwarfheim with three inactive Shift Stones, while she waited here.
    • Seigagar explained about something called Work Fog, where dwarves often have short term memory loss when they work.
