The University

The University is one of the oldest things in Terrenia. There are no records of when the University was established, but it is estimated to be over 2000 years old.

The University used to be a place where wizards and sorcerers came to train and study, and where many magical artifacts were produced. Since the end of the Holy Era, however, the University has become more of a place where nobles come to learn about politics, mathematics, and other areas of academia.

There is still secret research done about magic at the University, but this is a secret kept between the Masters and only the most talented and trusted students.

You emerge from the dank, stuffy depths of the Old Dungeon and are in a small alleyway between two rather tall and impressive looking buildings. You make your way out, and onto the quad of the University.

The University is a rather impressive sight. It has been built on the edge of a west facing cliff, where the setting sun is bathing the well manicured grass and tall brick-build buildings in a soft and inviting shade of auburn. Dozens, maybe hundreds, of students and staff walk to and fro across the stone paths and tree-lined fields in the middle of the square. There are many buildings that surround the path, a bell tower, the massive Masters’ Hall, the Glassworks which even at this hour has two plumes of white smoke billowing out of a couple of smoke stacks, several large stone auditoriums that burrow into the ground like stone quarries, and a few dozen other buildings that seem to be a smattering of classrooms and dormitories.
