Frozen Grotto

The Frozen Grotto is the home of Selina, the Water Spirit.

As you leave Terrenia, you feel the warmth of the warm summer evening vanish. The verdancy quells, and swoons into a thick winter skin. Snow tumbles about, ignoring the impotent whims of gravity, as crystalline critters scurry about at the sudden presence of mortals. You notice the crisp, shocking taste of the chill in your mouth, and the sudden sharp, needle-like feeling of the air.

Before you, is a towering cascade of a frozen waterfall. You see dozens, maybe hundreds, of tiny fish-like creatures in an unmoving suspended animation. Snaking around the cascading tower of unmoving water, is a set of stairs, rising up to reach the source of the ice. The stairs appear to be made of stone and frost, sturdy if not a bit precarious.

The winding stairs eventually lead to a massive, six-sided landing. The landing sits defiantly atop the unmoving river that appears to have once flowed out from several deliberately crafted openings carved into the sheer mountain cliff. The openings look as if they have been long since frozen shut. At the end of the platform, there is a towering stone door that leads into the mountain. Dotted around the platform are 4 humanoid shapes, frozen solid in a layer of ice.
